One Dead, Several Injured in Workplace Shooting at Valdosta Business; Suspect in Custody

VALDOSTA, Ga. — A tragic workplace shooting in Valdosta has left one person dead and several others injured, according to authorities. The incident unfolded at a local business, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting a swift response from law enforcement and emergency personnel.

Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at Jay Boy’s Travel Center on Madison Highway. One of the victims, identified as Damani Bentley, died as a result of injuries sustained during the shooting.
