WENATCHEE, Wash. — A calm Friday morning turned tragic in Wenatchee after a deadly two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 70-year-old motorcyclist. The heartbreaking incident has left the community mourning and searching for answers as investigators continue their work.
The Wenatchee Police Department identified the victim as David Borges, a longtime resident known in the area. According to officials, the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on North Western Avenue, a commonly traveled roadway that quickly became the scene of emergency response and investigation.
Police say Borges was riding his motorcycle northbound when a pickup truck, driven by 61-year-old Byron Jones of East Wenatchee, attempted to make a left turn onto Locust Avenue. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and immediately began life-saving efforts. Despite their quick response and attempts to help, Borges suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
