Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Thomas Barcy, who had been working on the roof of the former James L. Allen Center located at 2169 Campus Drive. According to officials, Barcy was operating equipment when he suddenly fell approximately four stories to the ground at around 3:26 p.m.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene shortly after the fall was reported. Despite their quick arrival and efforts, Barcy was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden loss has left many shaken, especially those who were working alongside him at the time.
