The quiet community of Wilmer in Mobile County has been left in shock after a brutal triple homicide claimed the lives of a mother and her two children early Monday morning. Authorities say the victims were found inside their home in what appears to be a planned and targeted attack that has deeply shaken residents.
Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch identified the victims as 46-year-old Lisa Ferguson, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas Cordell. Investigators confirmed that Luker was about eight months pregnant at the time of her death. In a small sign of relief, her 18-month-old daughter was found alive and unharmed inside the residence.
The investigation began around 2:30 a.m. after a concerned family member was asked to check on the home on Auble Moody Road. The concern came from the father of Luker’s children, who works offshore and noticed unusual activity on her phone through the Life360 app. Alarmed by what he saw, he contacted relatives, leading to the tragic discovery.
When authorities arrived, they found all three victims in separate rooms. Sheriff Burch said each had been restrained using zip ties or flex cuffs, pointing to a controlled and coordinated attack. The violence was described as severe, with Ferguson suffering multiple stab wounds, Luker being shot, and Thomas Cordell sustaining fatal injuries to his throat.
Investigators believe more than one suspect may be involved due to the nature of the crime. Officials said there were no signs of forced entry, and the victims appeared unable to resist. While the motive remains unclear, authorities are exploring several leads, including the possibility that the suspects were searching for something inside the home.
Sheriff Burch said investigators are working tirelessly to solve the case and bring justice to the victims. He expressed confidence that those responsible will be identified and arrested soon. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the community mourns this heartbreaking loss.
