HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point community is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of 22-year-old Jeremiah Dallas, whose life was cut short in a late-night shooting that has left residents shaken and searching for answers. The violent incident, which also left another man injured, is now under active investigation.
According to the High Point Police Department, officers with the Violent Crimes Unit responded around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday to reports of gunfire at a residence on Hidden Creek Terrace, located off Brentwood Street. What began as an emergency call quickly turned into a devastating scene.
When officers arrived, they found Jeremiah Dallas in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders immediately worked to provide life-saving aid, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden loss has left loved ones in deep grief.
Inside the home, officers located a 35-year-old man who had also been shot during the incident. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where officials confirmed his injuries were not considered life-threatening. Authorities have not released his identity.
