A tragic series of events in Galveston County, Texas, has resulted in the death of 51-year-old Jarrod Holt, leaving his family, friends, and community in deep sorrow. According to officials, Holt was arrested on May 3, 2026, at approximately 4:49 a.m. by the La Marque Police Department on a felony parole board warrant. Following the arrest, he was transported to the Galveston County Jail around 5:39 a.m., where he underwent a medical evaluation by UTMB health staff.
During that evaluation, authorities reported that Holt admitted to ingesting cocaine. Shortly afterward, his condition reportedly began to deteriorate rapidly while still in custody. Jail and medical personnel immediately noticed the change and began emergency response procedures.
