SAINT PAUL, Minn. — A frightening road rage incident on a busy Minnesota highway has led to serious felony charges against Farris Lanard Glover II, after authorities say he pointed a handgun at another driver and fired a shot during a tense confrontation. The alarming incident has renewed concerns about rising aggression on the road.
According to a criminal complaint, officers were dispatched around 6:15 a.m. on May 4, 2026, after receiving reports of a driver firing a weapon. A caller described a man driving a black Tesla and provided a partial Minnesota license plate, which helped investigators identify Glover as the suspect.
The victim told police the situation began when the Tesla aggressively tailgated his Chevrolet Silverado along Interstate 35E and Highway 36 East. Hoping to create space, the driver tapped his brakes, but the Tesla allegedly continued to follow him as he exited onto Cleveland Avenue and later turned onto County Road B.
Investigators say the encounter escalated when Glover accelerated to catch up and pulled alongside the victim near Fairview Avenue. After a brief exchange of words, Glover reportedly sped ahead, displayed a handgun, and pointed it toward the victim before firing a single round into the air. The victim described seeing a “poof of smoke” and immediately slowed down out of fear.
Glover now faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, threats of violence, and carrying a pistol without a valid permit. Authorities have not reported any physical injuries from the incident, but emphasized the serious risk such actions pose to public safety.
Officials are urging drivers to remain calm and avoid engaging in confrontations on the road. Law enforcement warns that road rage incidents can escalate quickly and dangerously, putting not only those involved but also innocent motorists at risk.
