A tragic early morning crash in West El Paso, Texas, has claimed the life of 23-year-old Brissa Celestte Rodriguez, leaving her family and friends devastated. The fatal collision happened on April 30, 2026, along Artcraft Road and has raised renewed concerns about speeding and roadway safety in the area.
According to the El Paso Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 6:36 a.m. in the 900 block of Artcraft Road. Officers with the department’s Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene shortly after the incident was reported and began working to determine what led to the deadly impact.
Investigators say Rodriguez was driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra when the vehicle struck the rear of a 2020 Landoll trailer. Authorities believe she was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. The force of the collision caused her car to become lodged underneath the trailer.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Rodriguez, who was the only person inside the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on-site. Officials confirmed that no other injuries were reported in the crash.
The trailer involved was associated with 42-year-old Arturo Gonzalez of El Paso, who was identified as the resident connected to the vehicle. Authorities have not suggested any wrongdoing on his part as the investigation continues.
Police say speed and failure to stop are believed to be contributing factors in the crash, though the full circumstances are still under review. This incident marks the 19th traffic fatality in El Paso in 2026, compared to 21 at the same point last year, as officials continue to examine road safety trends across the city. The El Paso Police Department says its investigation remains ongoing as loved ones mourn the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Brissa Celestte Rodriguez.
