Anthony Fuentes & Rebecca Allen Killed in Early Morning Highway Crash in McLennan County

A tragic three-vehicle crash in McLennan County, Texas, has left two people dead and another injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by authorities. The deadly collision occurred early Thursday morning along State Highway 164, just west of the Mart area, shaking the local community.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash happened around 6:30 a.m., approximately three miles west of Mart. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene after reports of a serious accident involving multiple vehicles on the highway.

Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that a Nissan Sentra was traveling along the roadway when it suddenly crossed the center line for reasons that are still unknown. The vehicle then collided head-on with a Ford Escape, creating a devastating impact. A third vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, was also involved in the crash during the chain reaction.

Authorities identified the driver of the Nissan Sentra as 55-year-old Anthony J. Fuentes of Waco. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the Ford Escape, 64-year-old Rebecca L. Allen, also of Waco, was likewise pronounced dead at the scene, marking a tragic loss of two lives.

Officials said the driver of the Nissan Rogue sustained injuries but they were not considered life-threatening. That individual remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators as troopers began examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

At this time, authorities say it remains unclear what caused the Nissan Sentra to cross into oncoming traffic. The Texas DPS continues to investigate as they work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal collision. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of two individuals whose lives were suddenly cut short on the roadway.
