BIRCH RUN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A quiet Monday evening turned tragic after a 31-year-old woman lost her life in a devastating motorcycle crash in Saginaw County. The incident has left family, friends, and the Mt. Morris community grieving as authorities work to determine what led to the deadly collision.
The Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Amber Moore, a resident of Mt. Morris. Deputies say the crash happened around 8:10 p.m. along Gera Road near Lange Road, just south of Frankenmuth in Birch Run Township. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Moore’s injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Moore was riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle and traveling southbound at the time of the crash. For reasons that are still unclear, her motorcycle collided with a GMC Terrain that was also heading south on the same road. The impact of the crash proved fatal, and authorities are now working to understand how the two vehicles came into contact.
The driver of the GMC Terrain, a 62-year-old woman from Arkansas, did not suffer any serious injuries. She remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators as they piece together the moments leading up to the crash.
Officials say the exact cause of the collision has not yet been determined. Investigators are carefully reviewing evidence, examining the scene, and reconstructing the crash to better understand what happened. It is not yet known if speed, visibility, or other factors played a role.
As the investigation continues, the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to come forward. Meanwhile, the loss of Amber Moore has deeply affected the Mt. Morris community, as loved ones remember a life cut short in a sudden and heartbreaking tragedy.
