Two Men Killed in Miami Apartment Shooting; Suspect Charged With Murder

MIAMI, Fla. — A deadly shooting inside a Miami apartment has left two men dead and a suspect facing multiple murder charges, according to police. The violent incident, which unfolded after an apparent altercation, is now under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the sequence of events.

Miami police say the shooting took place inside an apartment where an argument or confrontation had reportedly begun between the individuals involved. Investigators identified the suspect as 31-year-old Antwan Carter, who has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the case.

According to preliminary findings, the victims, identified as 28-year-old Gianni Pierre and 23-year-old Jaheim Pierre, were involved in an altercation with Carter prior to the shooting. Authorities say tensions escalated inside the residence, leading to a break in the confrontation when Carter initially left the location.

Police report that Carter later returned to the apartment, and shortly after re-entering the residence, gunfire erupted. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

Following the shooting, investigators say Carter approached officers and was taken into custody without further incident. A firearm believed to be connected to the shooting was also recovered by law enforcement at or near the scene. Officials have not yet released details about the weapon or how it was obtained.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the double homicide, including what led to the initial dispute and why Carter allegedly returned to the apartment. Police say the case remains active as detectives gather evidence, interview witnesses, and review forensic findings to fully understand what happened inside the residence.
