MIAMI, Fla. — A tragic act of violence has claimed the lives of two brothers in Miami, leaving a family and community in deep mourning. Authorities say 28-year-old Gianni Pierre and 23-year-old Jaheim Pierre were shot and killed, and 31-year-old Antwan Carter is now facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their deaths.
According to the Miami Police Department, the incident unfolded around noon Saturday at an apartment on Northwest 17th Avenue. Investigators say the brothers had gone to check on their sister after becoming concerned for her safety due to an ongoing domestic situation involving Carter.
Police report that tensions escalated quickly after the brothers arrived. What began as a verbal dispute turned physical, and authorities say Carter allegedly left the apartment during the confrontation. Moments later, he returned armed with a firearm, escalating the situation to deadly violence.
Investigators say Carter opened fire inside the residence, striking both men. Jaheim Pierre was pronounced dead at the scene, while Gianni Pierre was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries, leaving the family devastated by the loss of both brothers in a single ঘটনা.
In a chilling detail included in the arrest report, detectives say the girlfriend told police that after the shooting, Carter allegedly said, “See what you made me do.” Responding officers also reported that Carter approached them after the incident, admitted responsibility, and handed over a 9mm Glock 43.
Carter remains in custody without bond as the case moves forward. The deaths of Gianni and Jaheim Pierre have left a lasting impact, with loved ones remembering them as brothers who stepped in out of care and concern for their sister. As the investigation continues, the community is left mourning two lives lost far too soon.
